ABOUT THE ENERGY CHALLENGE
The Energy Challenge, a program of Generation180, is an online engagement platform focused on encouraging individuals to adopt smart energy behaviors and products. Collectively, individuals contribute about a third of total U.S. carbon emissions with home energy use and personal vehicles alone, not even including the energy embedded in the products we buy. Here’s the good news: Thanks to economic and social trends as well as ongoing technological innovation, individuals, households, and communities have a bigger role than ever to play in accelerating the transition to a clean energy future.
Anyone can form a team within the platform, set their own challenge period, earn points for taking action, share their progress, and see the collective impact in both dollar and carbon emission savings. We provide participants with a diverse array of challenges from which to select.
The Energy Challenge is free and open to the public. Participants can join an existing team, create a new one, or compete as an individual in the general community team. Generation 180 is also working closely with other organizations, companies, communities and many other groups to help them bring Energy Challenge to their cohorts and audiences.
