First CSA farm pickup today! Lettuce for days. 

Feeling inspired by May. Also excited that our share of Bellair Farms CSA starts soon.  

I started a new challenge which others can join me in -- Getting plastic out of my life!  I find this is one I need to think about ahead of time - bring my water bottle, bring produce bags to the grocery store, etc.   Still creeps in. 

Used climatestewards.org for the first time, was a nice, easy experience!

Today I composted my food scraps at the pop-up composting at the farmer's market on campus.

Now that it is spring time, our office will get a container of completed compost from Blackbear Composting. Who is interested in taking it? If there is more than one person, the one with the higher number of points in Energy Challenge gets first dibs. 

Aside from switching my old lightbulbs to LEDs, does anyone know how can I be more energy efficient in my home? I'm working on improving my residential energy efficiency for next week's challenge. 

I'm always looking for ways to reduce my food waste, so this week I'm going to start a compost bin at my house and teach my roommates about what's compostable!

Springtime calls for time on the bike instead of in the car, so I'm excited about biking instead of driving to work this week (especially when it means exercising at the same time)!
